World Series champion Royals visit White House

After capturing the World Series titles, the Kansas City Royals finally found time to make the customary champions’ visit to the White House.

The team shook hands with President Barack Obama and took plenty of pictures.

The visit started with the White House press briefing this morning. White House press secretary Josh Earnest is a Kansas City, Mo., native and fervent Royals fan. Ned Yost, Salvador Perez and Eric Hosmer surprised him with a personalized jersey at the briefing.

Then, President Obama entered the room to give his speech. You can watch the full speech in the tweet below.

The Royals’ 44 jersey was presented to Obama after his short speech.

Fox Sports TV personality (and sometimes Royals Tickets For Less blogger) Joel Goldberg tweeted a few photos from the White House.

Eric Hosmer shared this pose on Instagram.

Royals legend Frank White poked some fun at President Obama with this tweet. President Obama is a Chicago White Sox fan.
